In this collection of short stories, Susan’s characters mercilessly soldier through emotion disappointments, momentary breakdowns, twisted desires and other occurrences. A landlady encounters with Andy Warhol; a stylist finds herself trapped in a mission to subvert fashion’s shallowness (while holding a human brain); a tourist whose anticipation for finding the holiest icon in exotic location is less than soul-enhancing, and more. Susan’s words are candid, whimsical, darkly humourous and even self-mocking at times (relating to others as ‘the real writers’). Corpus is a frank yet imaginative account on what happens when art, design and various types of modern idealism fell short of one’s expectation. One for the strong at heart.

Julie Verhoeven, being a former collaborator, is no stranger to Silly Thing. The beloved illustrator has just rolled out a bedclothes range (fabric bag, pillowcase and more) for a certain Swedish High street brand (guess who). Now it is not so easy to get hold of the items, because they are only available in Stockholm - but not if you start getting friendly with your international 6th degree friend base!
